Droid Apps

I’ve shared what Android Apps I’m using so many times that I figured I’d post it up :)

Astrid- My to-do app.

Barcode Scanner- Scans barcodes and can search for items online etc.

DroidLight- Turns the camera LED into a flashlight. It’s BRIGHT!

Evernote- Syncs with my online notes through evernote.

FireWallet- Finance manager/ register.  Keeps track of my funds.  PIN protected and GREAT support.

Foursquare- Location based game.  I tried it.  It was fun.  I’ve moved on.

GeoBeagle- GeoCaching app.  May be switching to another app if/when Groundspeak puts our a geocaching app.

Google Goggles- Google Goggles is a visual search app.  Instead of using words, take a picture of an object with your camera phone: we attempt to recognize the object, and return relevant search results.

Google Sky Map- Sky & Star map!  Amazing to use day or night to figure out where stars and planets are.

GPS Tracker- Rarely use anymore now that I have more people using Google Latitude (and the ability to embed it on my website) but I left it on as it has other features I could still occasionally use.

Google Voice- All my calls and texts (incoming and outgoing) go through my google voice number.  Transcribed voicemails are easily read and played.

Handcent SMS- SMS Client which speaks the texts to me and allows me to text back by speech as well.  Popup when I receive texts.

Seesmic- Twitter client.  I used Twidroid then paid for I Tweet but actually prefer Seesmic to both.

mAnalytics- To track google analytics on my websites.

Maps- Standard, but I use Latitude and the Layers within maps HEAVILY.  Helps having the car dock which I couldn’t be happier with.  Includes turn by turn voice navigation with instant rerouting ability.

My Maps Editor- Syncs with the my maps tab on google maps.  Allows you to edit, share, and view maps that you can mark and use online or offline.

My Tracks- Records GPS tracks and allows for saving and exporting to google docs/maps.  I use this to record biking, hiking, motorcycle rides.

NewsRob- Google Reader/RSS Feed compiler.

Pandora- Music streaming.

PDA Net- Use the Droid to tether.  I never use this… but I have it.

PhoneFlicks- Manages my netflix queue.

Ringdroid- Allows me to take cuts of my mp3’s and turn them into ringtones and alarms.

SportsTap- Sports updates.

Talk To Me- Speech to text and text to speech translator.

UStream Broadcaster- Live video streaming from my phone.

WeatherBug- Constant weather updates.  Way better than stepping outside :)

White Noise Lite- This came in handy when at BMX races and staying in a hotel room with a bunch of snorers!

Wifi Analyzer- Scans wifi in the area and shows type of encryption as well as the mac address of the access point.

Wordpress - Android application allowing for posting, editing of pages, comment administration and more from my Droid.
